Memory Lane 2 In the beginning we only took photos in the house. To do that we had to wait until the kids were asleep or away at school. So a lot of photos were taken during the night. I felt so awkward in the beginning. Didn't know what to do or how to pose. So I just winged it. As the years progressed it became easier. Now I love it actually. Is that weird? And I didn't smile a lot. I was a bit of a bitch then! 😅 Luckily I got rid of the “bitchiness”. 😂 NOT! 20 years ago we were on the brink of a divorce. We both wanted to save the marriage and to do that we wanted to do things together. My husband loved breasts and photography so I became his model. Best decision we’ve ever made!

Let the Waters flow Let the waters flow and wash away the problems of yesterday. - Rassie A little river we crossed driving the Montagu Pass. The river is called the Keur river, a small river with a weird, pretty copper color. We sat there for a long time wondering why the river is that color. Any ideas out there? This was a very pretty spot. So calm and serene. This is the type of discovery I love during our trips.

Memory Lane A follower asked me about older photos. I have posted old photos before, but these photos are the oldest there is. (There are older, but that is another story.) This is from our very first photoshoot ever and was taken on a 2MP Sony Cybershot in our bedroom. (Yes, we splurged for the 2MP instead of the 1MP camera!) I was 28 years, 10 months, 3 days old! It was 19 years, 11 months, 3 days ago! For a few years we only took photos in the house and garden. It was only at the end on 2004 that we got the idea to take photos away from the house. A lovely park close to the city. In this park there were mountain bike tracks, walking paths and picnic places. Then the criminals moved in. The bike riders were attacked by criminals and they stopped riding there. All the tracks became overgrown, the bridges over the river collapsed and now there is nothing left. We can't even have picnics there anymore! It is so sad...!

🌞 Happy Sunday 🌞 Good morning everyone. These photos were taken on a cold winters day in our favorite nature reserve close to us. Yes, we went there quite often 😅😂. This was various photos taken during the morning, including photos of our picnic in our favorite spot under the trees. I wish I can remember why I laughed so much in photo 5. But then my husband makes so many jokes while we are shooting, I can't remember all of it. It was probably a joke at my expense! 😉😂We usually have a barbeque in this spot, but this day it was just some snacks from a local shop. In photo 6 is our little 4x4 that we used to travel with in those days! My daughter is driving it now. Have a great day everyone. The Cowboy's Wife A saloon inside a nature reserve. We've spend many hours here just having fun. Unfortunately these chairs here has been removed and replaced. I loved these chairs, it gave the place an "old western" feel.

🌄 Happy Friday Morning 🌄 Don't start the day with broken pieces of yesterday. Every morning we wake up, is the first day of the rest of our lives. Early morning in a nature reserve near Bela Bela. It was fairly cold that morning and the sun warming my back was so nice! We got up very early this morning for one thing. The hippos! I really wanted to see the hippos, and we did. They were mostly in the water, but we got some stunning photos of them. Also a very nice photo of a waterbuck!

🔹 Advice from a River 🔹 - Go with the flow - Immerse yourself in nature - Slow down and meander - Go around the obstacles - Be thoughtful of those downstream - Stay current - The beauty is in the journey - Keep moving forward just like a river Illan Shamir Well, I guess this is not really a river, more a stream. It is called the Tweespruit river near Badplaas. It was late in the day, I was hot and bothered. When we crossed this steam, on the way back to our camping spot, I just told my husband to stop. I just wanted to cool my feet in the clear water…, that led to photos…, that led to me getting completely into the water. This was one of those impromptu photoshoots that just turned out so good and I enjoyed so much.

** Infinite Vistas ** "A vista is an infinite movie to me. I never get tired of looking at what’s happening down there." Near the top of Sani's pass, one of the most beautiful passes in the world and by far the most beautiful pass in South Africa. We've been up this pass a few times and it is always an amazing experience. We also drove it down one time at night. It was a nerve wrecking experience for me! At he top of the pass there is a pub that's claim to fame is to be the highest pub in Africa. It is also the coldest pub, the windiest pub, the most expensive pub! 😂😂 But we always have a local beer there!
